RFP NO.03/2023-SOCIAL AND MASS MEDIA CREATIVE AGENCY
Background
Breakthrough ACTION is USAID’s global flagship for SBC programming and seeks to harness the demonstrated power of communication, from mass media to community outreach, to user-driven social media campaigns, to inspire long-lasting change. This is while taking advantage of innovative approaches from marketing science, behavioral economics, and human-centered design.
General Summary
The media/creative agency will implement the Breakthrough ACTION Kenya social media strategy and action plan through the development of media content for dissemination on platforms, such as radio, Facebook and Twitter. Production of content should be split up between the three current thematic areas of Breakthrough ACTION projects, these include AYSRH, Family Planning and Malaria. Development and curation of social media content involving AYSRH, and Family planning can be merged within one action plan. Content should be tailored to each platform that Breakthrough ACTION plans to utilize. Production of content will be based on the content plan and duration of engagement with the creative agency.
The agency will facilitate a creative workshop with the beneficiaries and key stake holders for malaria and AYSRH to develop social media and radio messages for the local radio and social media and develop products for both electronic and print production. The agency will run the social media and radio campaign for a determined period after the creative workshop.
Duration of assignment
This consultancy will be for a maximum of 30 days spread over six months from March to August 2023.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency with one or more of the following tools: Hootsuite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro], Trello, and Bit.ly
- Required oral and written fluency in English^
- Team with proficiency in Luo and/or Luhya
- Experience developing content for and working with social media and radio, geared towards youth or adolescents and women of reproductive age
Requirements
The agency must have:
- Documented experience developing social media content and radio contents public health campaigns
- Experience working in communications/social media for organizations focusing on public health, youth, adolescents, women of reproductive age, or related work
- Prior positive references from organizations on accounts developing social media.
