PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS
Our Client, a private developer, wishes to select contractors for a mixed-use urban building project
through a selective competitive bidding process.Applications are hereby invited from building and services
contractors to be pre-qualified for the project who must meet the following minimum qualifications;
Building Contractors – Main Works
1. Be registered by the National Construction Authority under NCA 3 and above with a current NCA license.
2. Demonstrate experience in completing at least three medium to high rise (at least 7 floors) buildings
in the last five years.
3. Demonstrate continuous construction activity with annual construction turnover of at least KES100
million in at least 3 of the last 5 years.
4. Demonstrate sufficient key technical personnel to undertake highrise building projects as follows
a) Site Agent – A bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying with
at least 10 years post registration experience in similar projects.
b) Site Engineer – A bachelors degree or Higher National diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering with
at least 8 years’ experience in similar projects.
5. Demonstrate sufficient equipment holding to undertake such a project (bidders to list).
Electrical and Mechanical Services Contractors
1. Be registered by the National Construction Authority under NCA 5 and above with a current NCA
license and have relevant experience in similar projects with qualified and experienced site personnel.
