GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
1. The Republic of Kenya through the National Treasury has received a loan from the African Development Bank to finance the National Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Program (NUWSSP).
2. The Principal Objectives of the Program are to:
a) Implement Water Supply and Sanitation Projects in various towns in Kenya with a view to catalyzing commercial activities, driving economic growth, improving quality of life of the people, and building resilience against climate variability and change.

It will increase both Water and Sanitation coverage in the Country and contribute to promotion of private sector growth.
b) Contribute to the furthering of the mandate of the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and
Irrigation of achieving progressive realization of human right to safe water in adequate
quantities and provision of reasonable standards of sanitation as stipulated in article
43 (b) and (d) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
3. The Program includes the following components:
a) Climate Resilient and Low-Carbon Water Supply & Sanitation Infrastructure.
b) Integrated Watershed Management.
c) Institutional Development Support
d) Program Management
4. Procurement of goods, works, consulting and non-consulting services will be in accordance with
the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations”-
August 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org
5. Bidding documents are expected to be available in October 2025.
