FOR A CONSULTANCY TO CONDUCT FEASIBILITY STUDY TO EVALUATE THE SUITABILITY OF VARIOUS CLEAN COOKING TECHNOLOGIES IN SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT – E0I-WFPKEN25002
Background
The United Nations World Food Programme hereinafter referred to as the “WFP”, with its Headquarters located in Via C.G. Viola, 68/70, 00148 Rome, Italy is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience by assisting almost 100 million people in around 83 countries each year. About 17,000 people work for the organization, most of them in remote areas, directly serving the hungry poor.
The World Food Programme [WFP] is supporting Kenya in the implementation of the national School Meals Programme (SMP), which aims to scale up school feeding to reach 10 million children by 2030. Under the framework of the Global School Meals Coalition (SMC) and the Kenyan National School Meals Coalition (NSMC), which promote coordination and efforts to improve school meal programs, WFP is assisting the government in operationalizing Kenya’s Clean Cooking Initiative.
Under the NSMC, a key activity is a feasibility study to evaluate the suitability of various clean cooking technologies within the school environment, particularly in the arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). The study will assess the technical, economic, and operational feasibility of different clean cooking technologies, including e-cooking solutions, to identify the most appropriate and scalable options for Kenya’s school feeding program. This work will build on existing research and work done on the topic in Kenya.

- Audited Accounts – last two years.
- 3 relevant copies of recent purchase orders/contracts and their references for feasibility studies in clean cooking and related studies.
- A brief concept as a demonstration of understanding the study and relevant technical expertise to carry out the scope of work.
This request for EOI does not constitute a solicitation. Eligible suppliers will be notified to participate in the tendering process.
WFP does not charge any fee for companies to access its surveys, questionnaires as well participate in the entire shortlisting process.
