INVITATION TO TENDER
Completion works for the ground and first floor of an existing accommodation facility (Hostel Block) including associated Electrical and Mechanical Installations works at Kenya
Institute for the Blind, Nairobi County. The time for completion is Twenty-Four (24) Weeks.
1. KENYA INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND invites sealed tenders for the construction of the PROPOSED
COMPLETION OF ACCOMODATION FACILITY (HOSTEL BLOCK) FOR KENYA INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND
2. Tendering will be conducted under open competitive method National using a standardized tender document.
Tendering is open to all qualified and interested NCA 4 and above Tenderers.
3. Qualified and interested tenderers may obtain further information and inspect the Tender Documents during
office hours 0900 to 1700 hours at the address given below.

4. A complete set of tender documents shall be obtained by interested tenders electronically from the Website
keib.or.ke free of charge or Public procurement information Portal (PPIP) tenders.go.ke. Tenderers who
download the tender document must forward their particulars immediately to kblind@keib.or.ke to facilitate
any further clarification or addendum.
5. Tenders shall be quoted be in Kenya Shillings and shall include all taxes. Tenders shall remain valid for 126
days from the date of opening of tenders.
6. All Tenders Tenders must be accompanied by a tender Security of Kenya Shillings 1,200,000.00 valid for a period of
156 days issued by recognized financial institution CBK or insurance companies listed by PPRA and registered by
IRA.
7. The Tenderer Shall Chronologically and sequentially serialize all pages of their bid document submitted in the format
of 1,2,3,4………………… From the cover page to the last page including all attachment.
8. Completed tenders must be delivered to the address below on or before [As per tender advertisement].
Electronic Tenders will not be permitted.

9. Tenders will be opened immediately after the deadline date and time specified above or any dead line date and
times specified later. Tenders will be publicly opened in the presence of the Tenderers’ designated representatives
who choose to attend at the address below.
