CONSTRUCTION OF MAVOKO WATER AND SEWERAGE INTERVENTIONS – PHASES II & III

1. Tanathi Water Works Development Agency (TAWWDA) has received financing from the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation for the CONSTRUCTION OF MAVOKO WATER AND SEWERAGE INTERVENTIONS – PHASES II & III

2. Bidding will be governed by the Government of Kenya Public Procurement rules and Procedures (The Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015; www.ppoa.go.ke).

The works shall comprise but not limited to the following:

Scope Under Phase II

1. i)Supply and laying of approximately 10 Km of various sizes of water pipelines distribution network including valves, meters, washouts, and other fittings
2. ii)Supply and laying of approximately 1.2 Km sewerlines

iii)    Construction of Valve Chambers and Manholes

Scope Under Phase III

17. i)Supply and laying of approximately 17.8 Km of various sizes of water pipelines distribution network including valves, meters, washouts, and other fittings
18. ii)Supply and laying of approximately 0.6 Km sewerlines

iii)    Construction of Valve Chambers and Manholes

1. iv)Construction of 250 M3 Elevated Steel Tank
2. v)Supply and delivery of Domestic Water Meters & Motorbilkes to MAVWASCO
3. Tanathi Water Works Development Agency now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders to undertake the works described above. The delivery/construction period is 18 months.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures specified by the Gov­ernment of Kenya Public Procurement rules and Procedures (The Public Procurement and Asset Dis­posal Act 2015; www.ppoa.go.ke), and is open to all bidders registered in Kenya as defined in the Bidding Documents.

and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 0800 hours to 1700 hours local time from Monday to Friday, except during lunch hour (1300 hours to 1400 hours), during weekends and public holidays.

6. The Application must be clearly marked “Tender for Construction of Mavoko Water and Sewer­age Interventions – Phases II & III”.
7. Qualifications requirements include:
8. a)Experience as prime contractor in the construction of at least 2 works of a nature and complexity equivalent to the Works over the last 5 years.
9. b)Proposals for the timely acquisition (own, lease, hire, etc.) of the essential equipment.
10. c)Liquid assets and/or credit facilities, net of other contractual commitments and exclusive of any advance payments which may be made under the Contract, of no less than KSh 50,000,000.00
11. d)Only firms registered and licensed with the National Construction Authority under category NCA 1 to NCA 2 (WATER OPTION/ CATEGORY) shall be eligible for this tender.
12. e)Only firms registered and licensed with the Ministry of Water & Sanitation and Irrigation under Class B Contractors for Water Supply, Sewerage, Irrigation, and Electro-Mechanical Works shall be eligible for this tender.
13. A consistent history of litigation or arbitration awards for the Applicant or any partner of a Joint Venture may result in disqualification.
14. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be inspected and downloaded by interested eligible bidders free of charge at website www.tanathi.go.ke or www.suppliers.treasury. go.ke
15. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security of Kshs 1,000,000 (or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency).
16. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1200 hours East African Time on Tuesday, 3rd May 2022. Late bids will be rejected and returned to the Bidder un-opened. Bids will be opened physically in the presence of the bidders’ or their representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below.
