GIZ TENDER JUNE 2022

INVITATION TO TENDER  – CALL FOR OFFERS

CONSULTANCY ON PRODUCTION OF VIDEO SERIES ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN FORMAL AND INFORMAL EMPLOYMENT

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements the initiative Agri-Jobs 4 Youth commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The initiative’s objective is to increase qualification, income and employment opportunities in the agri-food sector in Western Kenya with a special focus on youth and women.

Agri-Jobs 4 Youth cooperates and coordinates with a diverse range of public and private sector institutions as well as civil society, to capitalize on the benefits of plurality and inclusivity for transformative change.

The objective of the initiative is to create opportunities and to empower young people to build their livelihoods through gainful salaried employment or self-employment in agribusiness. This is being achieved through a variety of complementary measures, ranging from creating framework conditions that foster economic and public policy participation of youth, catalysing private sector- led job creation, promoting a performance-driven, future-oriented learning system, engaging to overcome labour market constraints, supporting independent and self-sustaining youth organisations, as well as promoting cross-country knowledge exchange.

Gender equality has been found to be a pre-condition to sustainable economic development. The initiative hence supports the equal access to opportunities within the agri-food sector by all genders. This includes addressing barriers to gender equality when conceptualizing activities in the project area, Western Kenya. As an employment promotion project, highlighting sexual harassment in formal and informal employment is important. The initiative is supporting the development of a series of communication products on the topic of sexual harassment targeted at formal and informal employers and employees.
