CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DESIGN REVIEW AND SUPERVISION OF WORKS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE ADDITIONAL WORKS FOR THE THIKA-GATUNDU WATER SUPPLY

ATHI WATER WORKS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

(CONSULTING SERVICES-FIRMS SELECTION)

1. The Government of Kenya (GoK) through Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) intends to under­take the Design Review and Supervision of Works for Construction of the Additional Works for the Thika-Gatundu Water Supply Project under GoK funding. The scope of works involves; Construction of Intake Works; Laying of Raw and Treated water pipelines and the Construction of a Water treatment plant
2. The scope of services for the Consultant Services will include but not limited to:
3. i)Design Review
4. ii)Works Coordination and Supervision

iii)    Preparation of a water and sanitation masterplan for Gatundu Region in Kiambu County.

3. The consultancy services will be carried out over a period of 12 Months. Further details are provided in the terms of reference.
4. Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites eligible Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. The shortlisting criteria for the consultants are:
5. a)Experience in similar assignments involving designs and work supervision of water works development;
6. b)Experience in similar conditions; and,
7. c)Availability of appropriate skills amongst key staff including qualified professional engineers, surveyors, environmentalists and sociologists.
8. d)Experience in preparation of masterplans
9. Further information can be obtained at the address below during office hours from 0800 to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday excluding lunch hour (1300 to 1400Hrs) and public holidays.
10. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the “Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2015. A method of selection will be in accordance with the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method.
11. Expressions of interest must be delivered in a written form to the address below (in person, or by mail, or by e-mail) by 4th September 2023 at 12:00 Noon East African Time clearly marked “Expression of Interest for Consultancy services for the Design Review and Work Supervision for the Augmentation of the Thika and Gatundu Water Supply Project. Contract No. AWWDA/GOK/TGWS/CS/1/2023. Late submis­sions will not be accepted.
