KENYA FOREST SERVICE TENDER 2021 

Kenya Forest Service (KFS) is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016. The mandate of the Service is “to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes”.

Kenya Forest Service invites applications from eligible Forest industry investors interested in buying forest plantation materials among them round-wood, poles and fuel wood from state forests to submit their application online for regis­tration as Forest industry investors (Timber, Pulp wood, treated transmission poles, Ply wood and fuel wood) for the 2021/2022 – 2022/2023 Financial Years.

NOTE: All bidders who had applied earlier through the e-Registration system are required to RE-APPLY since the evaluation criteria for registration had not been shared with the applicants.

Applicants are required to visit the KFS website www.kenyaforestservice.org and www.environment.go.ke for a copy of document guiding the registration process and also familiarize themselves with the evaluation criteria. The doc­uments can also be downloaded from the public procurement information portal www.tenders.go.ke.

Upon successful submission of application details and after verification in the system, the applicant will be notified of his/her application status via email provided during registration.

The online e-registration process will close on Tuesday, 2^9th June, 2021 at 12 noon. After the closing of the online e-registration all successful applications in the system will undergo a physical verification of the information provided in the system by the applicant.

The end result of the physical verification will be a list of registered forest industry investors (Timber, Pulp wood, treated transmission poles, Ply wood and fuel wood) who will be invited to bid for forest plantation materials from time to time whenever they are available within the 2021/2022 – 2022/2023 Financial Years. All subsequent applications after the indicated date and time will be considered biannually.
