INVITATION FOR PREQUALIFICATION FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKS FOR THE MWACHE CHECK DAM #2 AND DEMONSTRATION IRRIGATION SCHEME PROJECT

The Government of Kenya has received from the World Bank toward the cost of the Coastal Region Water Security and Climate Resilience Project (CRWSCRP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction Works for the Mwache Check Dam #2 and Demonstration Irrigation Scheme
The Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation through Coastal Region Water Security and Climate Resilience Project intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for Construction Works for the Mwache Check Dam #2 and Demon- stration Irrigation Scheme Project consisting of the following works:
- Construction of Dam Body and Appurtenant Structures,
- Constructionof Irrigation Demonstration Scheme of 100 Hectares (Irrigation Network, Pump Building, Head Pond )
- Design, Supply and Installation of Electrical and Mechanical Works of Dam and Irrigation Scheme,
- Design and Construction of Buildings, and Access/ Relocation Roads
It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in November,

Prequalification will be conducted through procedures as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated July 2016 and revised in October 2017, August 2018 and November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible applicants as defined in the Procurement
Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation at the address given below during office hours 0900 to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday excluding lunch hour (1300 to 1400 hours) and public
A complete set of Prequalification documents in English in form of CD shall be provided at the address below free of charge or downloaded from the Ministry’s website; water.go.ke free of charge. Applicants who down- load the Prequalification documents are required to notify the Employer by email: procurement@kwscrp.org with full contact details that they intend to participate; this will facilitate issuance of notifications by the Purchaser, to all Applicants where necessary. No arrangements have been made for other methods of delivery of prequalification documents.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 13th September, 2022 at 10:00 hours East African Time and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for Construction Works for the Mwache Check Dam #2 and Demonstration Irrigation Scheme Project; Contract MOWSI/KWSCRP-2/003/2022-2023” and placed in the Tender Box located at Ground Floor, Maji House, Ngong Road, Nairobi, Kenya. Late applications will be rejected.
