The Government of Kenya has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit for payments under contract for Procurement of Motor Vehicles.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the above contract.

Bidders may bid for any one or more lots in the tender and bid evaluation will be done on lot basis. The delivery period will be from 6 to 10 weeks inclusive counted from the point in time when the supplier has received an effective purchase order.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bid documents at the Procurement office NSSF Building, block A, Eastern wing 14th floor during office hours, Monday–Friday 0800 to 1700 hours. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding(NCB) procedures as specified in the world bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non –Consulting services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers (January, 2011 Edition revised 2014). Guidelines edition as per legal agreement (“procurement guideline”) “and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the procurement guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs’ 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A complete set of bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non–refundable fee of KES.1000/= per bidding document in cash or bankers cheque in favour of the Principal Secretary, State Department for Labour, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection at cash office situated at NSSF Building, Block A, Eastern Wing, 2nd Floor along Bishops road Nairobi. Bids must be delivered to the address below not later than Wednesday 25th March 2020 at 10.00 a.m.

A complete bid document enclosed in a plain sealed envelope clearly marked with the Tender Reference Name and Number should be deposited in the Tender box situated at the Main entrance of procurement offices , NSSF Building, Block A, Eastern Wing, 14th Floor along Bishops road Nairobi. Or posted to the aforementioned address so as to be received on or before Wednesday 25th March 2020 at 10.00 a.m. East African Time.

Bids will be publicly opened on Wednesday 25th March 2020 at 10.00 a.m. East African Time immediately after the closing time, in the presence of interested bidders’ or designated representatives and anyone one who may choose to attend at NSSF Building Block “A”, 7th Floor, Eastern Wing Boardroom Bishops road, Nairobi. Electronic bidding will NOT be permitted and late bids will automatically be rejected. All bids must be accompanied by a “bid security” in form of a bank guarantee or bankers’ cheque of the value as indicated in the bid document and must be valid for 28 days beyond the validity of the tender.
