  1. Aquaculture Business Development Programme (ABDP) is a partnership between the Government of Kenya, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The Programme is expected to be completed in April 2026. It is implemented by Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation and supervised by IFAD. The objective of the Programme is to increase the incomes, food security and nutritional status of the wider communities of poor rural households involved in aquaculture in the targeted Counties, with progress indicated by the percentage of beneficiaries reporting increased annual net income and the percentage increase in national annual fish consumption).
  2. Aquaculture Business Development Programme (ABDP) Programme now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Supply and devilry of Laboratory Equipment as provided for in the bid document.
  3. Bidding will be conducted through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the IFAD Procurement guidelines.
  4. The bidding document can be downloaded by interested Bidders FREE OF CHARGE from the project website: abdpcu.org or the United Nations Development Business website https://devbusiness.un.org  as well as on IFAD website.
  5. Completed bids must be submitted in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked as: Supply and delivery of Laboratory equipment: Bid No. MOALF/SDFA&BE/ABDP/ICB/2022-2023/40-01 and addressed to:

and deposited in the Tender Box situated on the Reception Area of ABDP office in Nyeri, off Kamakwa road, Opposite Nyeri Club or posted to reach the above address or sent to the email above on or before Tuesday 6th  December 2022 at 11.00 AM EAT. Late bids shall not be accepted

  1. Please note that a pre-bid conference will be held as described on 22nd November 2022 at 11. 00 am EAT
  2. Bid opening shall take place at the ABDP Boardroom at the Programme Offices on 6th December 2022 at 11.30 AM EAT in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.
  3. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Kes 200,000 for Lot 1 and Kes 200,000 for Lot II or their equivalent value in other currencies converted using the Central Bank of Kenya Published Mean rate of the closing date.
  4. Late tenders will not be accepted regardless of the circumstances.
