SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF SEA SURVIVAL AND CRAFT EQUIPMENT

1. The Government of Kenya (GOK) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the
Financing Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project, (HOAGDP) and intends to apply part of the
proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Supply & Delivery of Sea Survival and Craft
Equipment for Training on Standards for Training, Certification and Watch Keeping Convention
(STCW) Course
2. The State Department for Transport (the Client), now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for
Supply and Delivery of Sea Survival and Craft Equipment for Training on Standards for Training, Certification
and Watch Keeping Convention (STCW) Course as given below;
LOT 1: Supply & Delivery of Sea Craft Equipment and Related Items
LOT 2: Supply & Delivery of Sea Survival Equipment and Related Items
3. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB)
as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated July 2016 and
revised in November 2017, August 2018 and November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is
open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the State Department for Transport,
Supply Chain Management office and inspect the bidding document during office hours
Monday to Friday 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs.
5. The bidding document in English language is available online and may be downloaded without
any charge from www.transport.go.ke. Bidders are encouraged to download the bid document to
minimize physical visit to Transcom House.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address below either in person, or by mail, or may be placed in the
tender box at our offices on ground floor Transcom House on or before 2nd May 2023 at 1100
hrs East African Time. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids
will be publicly opened in the presence of Bidder’s or their designated representatives who choose
to attend at the address below.
7. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of at least 2% of the tender sum from a reputable
financial institution in Kenya.
