TENDER FOR THE PROPOSED CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURIST/ VISITOR SAFETY FACILITIES AT WORLD WAR ONE HERITAGE MONUMENTS AT MAKTAU – TAITA TAVETA COUNTY
The National Museums of Kenya (NMK) through The State Department of Heritage intends to develop tourist/ visitor facilities at World War One (WWI) Heritage Monuments at Maktau – Taita Taveta County.
The brief overview of the scope of works is as described here below: –
- Construction of persons with disabilities (PWDs) compliant ablution blocks
- Construction of persons with disabilities (PWDs) compliant interpretation centre/ visitor centre and administrative offices
- Research, collection, documentation and restoration of World War One (WWI) Heritage Monuments
- Collection of artefacts, exhibition development, design and installation of WWI Heritage exhibition with audio-visuals (AVs) and educational programmes; and
- Development of marketing and promotional materials of World War One (WWI) Heritage Monuments
Tenders are hereby invited for this project and interested Consortia comprising of Consultants and Contrac- tors with the necessary experience in Research, Marketing, Exhibition Design and Development and Heritage works; and registered with the National Construction Authority in Category ‘5’ and above in Building and Civil Works.
Interested eligible candidates may obtain further information and inspect tender documents at the Procure- ment Office, National Museums of Kenya, Museum Hill road, Nairobi during normal working hours.
A complete set of tender documents may be obtained by interested candidates upon payment of a non-re- fundable fee of one thousand (Kes. 1,000) Kenya shillings only or a bankers’ cheque, payable to the National Museums of Kenya, Cash Office located at the first floor of Heritage Centre building. Bidders who download the tender document from the NMK website (www.museums.or.ke) will not be required to pay.
Prices quoted should be net inclusive of all taxes, must be in Kenya shillings and shall remain valid for 120 days from the closing date of the tender.
Completed tender documents are to be enclosed in plain sealed envelopes marked with tender name and reference number and deposited in the tender box at the entrance of Earth Science building and be ad- dressed to:

So as to reach NMK on or before 11th May, 2022 at 12:00PM.
Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the candidates or their representatives who chose to attend at the NMK Old Boardroom
