ABOUT MESPT
Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) is a development organization committed to advancing agricultural productivity, food safety, financial inclusion, and green transformation. MESPT empowers smallholder farmers and Agri-SMEs to enhance productivity, income, and competitiveness, with a strong focus on youth and women.
OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
MESPT seeks to engage a qualified consultant to facilitate a 5-day training program for staff from selected Financial Service Providers (FSPs). The training will focus on green transformation, gender mainstreaming, climate-resilient, and sustainable financing within the agricultural sector. This will strengthen the FSPs’ internal capacities, encourage inclusive finance, and promote better support for smallholder farmers and Agri-SMEs.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
The consultant will be expected to:
- Develop tailored training modules and manuals covering green financing, gender lens investing, and inclusive Agri-value chain finance.
- Deliver participatory training to FSP staff through case studies, role plays, and real-life value chain examples.
- Provide guidance on risk management strategies, inclusive loan structuring, and ESG integration.
- Submit a final training report, course materials, participant feedback, and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, Business Management, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience in development finance, Agri-value chains, and inclusive lending.
- Proven expertise in green/climate finance, gender transformative approaches, and financial institution training.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering at least 3 similar assignments in the last 4 years.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting and blended finance instruments.
- NITA/ILO certifications will be an added advantage.
