This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in United Na­tions Development Business No. AfDB-P454805-01/20 of 16th January, 2020 and African Development Bank (AfDB) internet website on 20th December, 2019.

The Government of the Republic of Kenya has received a loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and African Devel­opment Fund (ADF), and a grant from the European Union (EU) to finance the Multinational Bagamoyo – Horohoro/ Lunga- Lunga – Malindi Road Phase I: Mombasa – Mtwapa – Kilifi (A7) Road Section, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this loan to make eligible payments under the contract for the Consultancy Services for Trade and transport facilitation studies.

The Services include, among others: (i) identifying constraints to trade development and growth within the road corridor and between Kenya and Tanzania and recommend ways of addressing them; (ii) to develop streamlined logistics systems that reduce time and costs and increase reliability and predictability of shipments between Kenya and Tanzania; (iii) development strategies and programs to promote integration of the corridor (Lunga Lunga – Lamu) with LAPPSET Corridor.

The Kenya National Highways Authority, herein referred to as the Client being an authorized agent of the Government of the Republic of Kenya now invites eligible Consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the above services.

Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments in similar conditions and Availability of the appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short – list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African De­velopment Bank’s ‘Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations’ – August, 2015, which is available in the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Borrowers are under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest.
