  1. The Government of the Republic of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project and intends to apply part for Consulting
  2. The Consulting Services (“the Services”) include Conducting of Feasibility Studies, Preliminary and Detailed Engineering Design, Preparation of Bidding Documents and Works Supervision for Extension of Meru Bypass (17.5 Km).
  3. The period of the services is 45 months comprising: 9 months for design and Bid documents preparation, 24 months for Construction Supervision plus a 12 months defects liability period. The estimated number of person-months of key profes- sional personnel for both lump sum (design) and time based (supervision) Contract is 240 comprising: 36 person months for design and 204 person months for Construction

  1. The Kenya National Highways Authority, a State Corporation under the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works established under the Kenya Roads Act, 2007, now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consul- tants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are:
    1. Firm The firm shall be registered in the field of Civil Engineering and related services as its core busi- ness for a period of not less than 10 years;
    2. Firm Experience. The firm should demonstrate capacity and experience in carrying out design and supervision of highways for a period not less than 10 The firm must have undertaken at least 3 similar assignments in scope and value within the last 5 years;
    3. Availability of Key The firm must demonstrate as having the requisite technical and managerial capacity to undertake the assignment.

Key Experts will not be evaluated at the shortlisting stage.

  2. Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications, but should indicate clearly whether the associ- ation is in the form of a joint venture and/or a sub-consultancy. In the case of a joint venture, all the partners in the joint venture shall be jointly and severally liable for the entire contract, if
  3. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method set out in the World Bank’s Procurement
