Expressions Of Interest For Transport Of Mineral Product – BTL

BASE TITANIUM TENDER JUNE 2021

Base Titanium Limited (BTL), through this Expression of Interest (EOI), is seeking interest from qualified contractors for the road transport of product from its Mine in Maumba, Kwale County.

BTL operates the Kwale Mineral Sands Mine in Kenya which commenced production
in late 2013. The Mine is located 10 kilometres inland from the Kenyan coast and
50 kilometres south of Mombasa and produces mineral sands products for export.

Finished products for bulk shipment are transported by tipper trucks to the Company’s privately owned and operated Likoni Port Facility, whilst containerised shipments are transported to the Port of Mombasa via the Likoni Ferry Terminal.

Typical tonnage to be transported will comprise approximately 800,000t of bulk product and 90,000t of containerised product over a 2 year contract period.

The requirements to participate in the tender process include but are not limited to:

• A demonstrated ability to implement fleet management systems that will ensure exceptional levels of safety whilst operating on public roads and through congested areas
• Provision of suitable prime movers and trailers to carry out the function
• Provision of maintenance capabilities to ensure high fleet availabilities
• Provision of a suitable level of equipment redundancy to ensure continuous operations on a 365 days per year basis
• Provision of suitably qualified management, maintenance, and operational staff.

In addition, the successful Contractor must be fully licensed to carry out the business in question in the Republic of Kenya.

• Company background including experience in the provision of bulk and containerised transport services
