MEDICAL INSURANCE COVER FOR YEAR 2026 – (INSURANCE BROKERAGE COMPANY)
Background

We support the German Government in the field of international cooperation – sustainable development. We are also engaged in international education activities around the globe Through our work we assist people and societies in shaping their own future and improving living conditions.
GIZ has been a long-standing partner of the Kenyan government since 1975, focusing on various sect’s including agriculture, food security, sustainable economic development, good governance, ere-:, transport, climate change, and migration. Our projects are designed to support capacity development and enhance Kenyan livelihoods through their own efforts.
Scope
GIZ Office Kenya seeks the services of a brokerage Insurance company for a Medical Insurance, WIBA and Life Insurance covers within the boundaries of Kenya and selected options outside the country.
GIZ shall hire the service provider who shall be a Medical Insurance, WIBA and Life Insurance broker for the contract for year 2026.
Eligibility criteria
Interested bidders MUST meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Conditions to be met by the Broker (Insurance Brokerage company)
- Must be registered with the Insurance Regulatory Authority for the current year and a certified copy of the current license be submitted.
- Must submit a certified Bank guarantee of KES. 3,000,000.00 from a reputable bank.
- Must have a Professional Indemnity Insurance Cover of at least KES. 50,000,000.00 and a certified copy to be submitted.
- Must submit a list of 3 (three) reputable clients, whose combined total clients premium in the last three (3) years is at least Kshs. 80 million per year supported by contract extracts or relevant testimonials from the client.
- Must submit certified copies of the audited accounts for the last three (3) years 2022, 2023 and 2024.
- Must be a current member of the Association of Insurance Brokers of Kenya (AIBK)
- Must submit copies of the following documents:
- KRA PIN certificate
- Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
- Certificate of Registration/Incorporation
- CR-12 forms for the current year and last 2 (two) years 2023 and 2024 detailing the shareholding structure of the company
- Current license from the county government where the head office is domiciled Business permit.
- Current professional indemnity certification from IRA
- The bidder is also free to provide any other information or documents which in the opinion of” e bidder may assist in the objective evaluation of their expression/bid.
- Must provide evidence of Capacity to undertake brokerage services:
- On a national scale (At least 30 counties in Kenya)
- Regional scale (Sub-Saharan Africa countries including Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Somalia)
