1. The Ministry of Health has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Covid-19
Health Emergency Response Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments
under the contract for Supply and Delivery of 142,816 pieces of Double Blood Bags, 39,350 pieces of
Triple Blood Bags, 11,309 pieces of Quadruple Blood Bags for Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority
2. The Ministry of Health now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Supply and Delivery of
142,816 pieces of Double Blood Bags, 39,350 pieces of Triple Blood Bags, 11,309 pieces of Quadruple
Blood Bags for Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority.
3. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB)
as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016, updated
August 2018 and November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders
as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Health Procurement
Office – Afya House -Cathedral Road-Nairobi and inspect the bidding document during office hours.
0900 to 1700 hours at the address given below or be sought through email address
procurement@health.go.ke
5. The bidding document in English may be downloaded from the Ministry of Health website
www.health.go.ke or Public Procurement Information Portal: www.tenders.go.ke, free of charge.
Eligible Tenderers downloading the Tender document MUST forward their company’s details to
procurement@health.go.ke so that any addendum/ clarifications can be sent to their email
address.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address below or before 2nd August 2023 11:00 am Kenyan Time and
deposited on the tender Box Located on the 1st Floor of Ministry of Health Headquarters-Afya House.
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Bids will be publicly opened immediately after closing in the
presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the GTZ
Boardroom. Late Bids will be rejected.
7. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Kshs.1,000,000 (Kenya Shillings One Million
Only) and MUST be from a Reputable Bank or from a Public Procurement and Regulatory Authority
(PPRA) approved list of Insurance Companies and the security shall be valid for One Hundred and
Fifty (150) days from the tender opening date.
