INVITATION TO TENDER
TENDER FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKS FOR WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE PROJECT FOR THE TOWNS OF MOI’S BRIDGE AND MATUNDA
CONTRACT No.: LVNWWDA/W-S/MOI – MTD/2022 -2023
- Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency “the Agency” has received financing from the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds towards the cost of Construction Works for Water Supply and Sewerage Project for Moi’s Bridge and Matunda towns in Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu
Now,the Agency invites eligible bidders to tender for the works as detailed below;
Component 1: Water Supply consisting of Construction of:
- A new concrete weir intake (20m long, 2m high with 6m high walkway/deck) on Chepkaitit River in the Cherangany Hills at an elevation of about 2071m
- A new 450mm diameter, 400m long, steel gravity Raw Water Main from the intake to a new treatment works;
- A new treatment works of capacity 15,000 m3/d about 400 m from the intake at an elevation of about 2065m including 700m3 RC ground clear water tank, staff houses and laboratory;
- Concrete works totaling to a volume of approximately 7,000m3.
- New treated water gravity mains: 28 km, 450 mm diameter HDPE pipeline from the new treatment works to a new storage tank at Maji Mazuri and 8 km, 400-150 mm HDPE pipe from Maji Mazuri tank to new and existing tanks at Milimani and Sironei;
- 2 new 1,500 m3 RC ground storage tanks at Maji Mazuri and at Milimani, 1 no 75m3 masonry ground storage tank at Kiptoi and 500m3 RC ground water storage tank to serve Kachibora/Junction/Perkera
- New HDPE distribution mains from the existing tank at Milimani varying in diameter from 50mm to 200 mm of total length 50,000m to both Moi’s Bridge and Matunda
- New HDPE distribution mains serving Kiptoi, Kachibora, Junction, Perkera and Milimani areas of total length 106km varying in diameter from 50mm to 110 mm
Component 2: Sewerage consisting of construction of:
- Moi’s Bridge
- 3 km of gravity trunk sewer line networks of diameter 300mm DWC
- 14 km of gravity trunk sewer line networks of diameter 250mm DWC
- 6 km of pumped sewer line networks of diameter 160mm HDPE Pipes.
- Waste Water treatment plants consisting of 2 Anaerobic, 2No. Facultative and 2No. Maturation ponds with an excavation volume of 114,000m3 and line with concrete.
- Concrete works totaling to a volume of approximately 21,000m3.
- Sewer Pumping Station Powered by Solar Power and Electricity from National Grid capable of pumping 2400 m3/day..
- Matunda
- 6 km of gravity trunk sewer line networks of diameter 300mm DWC Pipes.
- 9 km of gravity trunk sewer line networks of diameter 250mm DWC
- 1 km of pumped sewer line networks of diameter 160mm HDPE
- Waste Water treatment plants consisting of 2 Anaerobic, 2No. Facultative and 2No. Maturation ponds with an excavation volume of 90,000m3 and line with concrete.
- Concrete works totaling to a volume of approximately 16,000m3.
- Sewer Pumping Station Powered by Solar Power and Electricity from National Grid capable of pumping 2000 m3/day.
General for all Components:
- Electrification of the water treatment plant and the sewerage pumping stations from the National Electricity grid and solar power
- Electro-mechanical equipment for the water supply schemes and sewerage pumping stations
- Facilities for chemical storage, preparation of buffer solution and dosing for the water
- Project ancillaries including fences, access road works, parking areas and
(Both Components are to be implemented concurrently)
- Tendering will be conducted under open National competitive bidding method using a standardized tender document and is open to all qualified and interested Tenderers registered in Category NCA 1 (Water Works) by the National Construction
- Qualified and interested Tenderers may obtain further information and inspect the tender documents during office hours (08:00 to 17:00 hours), except during lunch break starting 13:00 to 14:00 Hours East African Time at the address given
- A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 1,000.00. The method of payment will be cash deposit into the Agency’s Revenue Account at Kenya Commercial Bank, Kakamega Branch Account No.1103686909) or by banker’s cheque from a reputable bank in Kenya. Bidders will be issued with a receipt on submission of Bank deposit slips. The bidding documents will be collected from the address below upon production of a purchase receipt.
- Tender documents may be viewed and downloaded for free from the Agency’s website https://lvnwwda.go.ke or the Public Procurement Information Portal website tenders.go.ke .Tenderers who download the tender document must forward their particulars immediately to: procurement@lvnwwda.go.ke or info@lvnwwda.go.ke to facilitate any further clarification or addendum and for record purposes.
- All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Security of KES 30,000,000(Thirty million Kenya Shillings) from a reputable bank approved by the Central Bank of The tender security shall be as prescribed in the bidding document and valid for 150 days from the tender submission deadline. The Security shall be in the form of a Bank Guarantee.
- Tenderers shall chronologically serialize all pages of the tender documents
- A MANDATORY site visit and pretender meeting shall take place on Wednesday, 15th September 2022 where tenderers or their representatives will assemble at the Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency’s Conference Hall in Kakamega at 0900Hrs East African Time
- Completed tenders should be deposited in the tender box at the Agency’s procurement offices in Kakamega or delivered to the address below on or before Friday, 30th September, 2022 at 12 Noon East African Electronic Tenders will not be permitted.
- Tenders will be opened immediately after the date and time specified above or any date and time specified Tenders will be publicly opened in the presence of the Tenderers’ designated representatives who choose to attend at the address below.
