SUPPORTING GIZ IN A CONSULTANCY ON VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING FOR AND WATER REFUGEES AND HOST COMMUNITIES IN TURKANA WEST SUB-COUNTY, TURKANA COUNTY.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit.(GIZ) GmbH is implementing Technical cooperation measures on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. GIZ invites eligible Individuals/ Firms to indicate their interest in consultancy on vocational skills training for and water refugees and host communities in Turkana west sub-county, Turkana county.

The execution of the works will be performed within the frame of the Technical Cooperation between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Republic of Kenya.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is supporting the Government of Kenya with the programme Support to Refugees and Host Communities in Kenya.

The programme aims at improving living conditions for refugees and members of the host community in Kakuma/ Kalobeyei/ Turkana West. One specific objective is to improve income opportunities for both communities in a gender-sensitive manner (Component A). This is achieved by providing relevant technical and life skills trainings to promote self-reliance and supporting integration into the local labour market. In this regard the GIZ Support to Refugees and Host Communities programme in Kenya, is looking for a consultant to offer technical and vocational trainings to 250 refugees and host communities’ members in Turkana west sub-county, Turkana county.

The consultant will offer technical support, selection of skills based on existing labour market needs assessments, Customization of curriculum, training tools and guides, Identification of participants, delivery of trainings, assessment and certification
